  • Arrival of the academic procession
  • Opening address ‘Academic citizenship: the societal task of the University’ by Rector Magnificus and (interim) President of the Executive Board, Prof. Peter-Paul Verbeek
  • Dies Natalis lecture the plasticity of our brain by Prof. Paul Lucassen, Professor of Brain Plasticity at the Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences, University of Amsterdam
  • Awarding of an honorary doctorate to TomTom founder and social entrepreneur Corinne Goddijn-Vigreux.

An honorary doctorate was previously announced for gynaecologist and politician Petra De Sutter. De Sutter has informed the University of Amsterdam that she will withdraw from the ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances.
