The VR experience is available in several 40-minute time slots, each with space for six participants. Registration for individual time slots takes place on site.

We experience a day in Ida’s life as her reality slowly begins to fade. The apartment where she has spent her entire life with her beloved husband, Daniel, initially feels empty and undefined. Gradually, her playful world comes to life, as though it were being painted before our eyes.

The internationally acclaimed VR experience A Long Goodbye has won, among other awards, the prestigious Venice Immersive Achievement Prize and the Cristal for Best Immersive Work at Annecy. Since its world premiere, it has received ten international awards at leading festivals.

About the creators

Kate Voet studied English Language and Culture at the UvA and is a Belgian director and screenwriter. Her films have received international awards, and she co-wrote and directed the VR film A Long Goodbye, which premiered at the 82nd Venice Film Festival. 

Victor Maes graduated in 2015 from LUCA School of Arts and completed a cinematography programme in Los Angeles. He works as a director of photography on fiction and documentary productions, and he co-wrote and co-directed the VR film A Long Goodbye.
