Before that, he was also chairman of the Confederation of Dutch Industry (VNO) from 1991, which became the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW) in 1995. Since 1 September 2012, Rinnooy Kan has been University Professor of Economics and Business Studies, specifically focusing on change processes at the micro and macro level.
