What introduction programme can I join?
For Bachelor's students:
Intreeweek
For Bachelor’s students at the UvA (not applicable for students at the Amsterdam University College - AUC).
The Intreeweek is the official introduction week for Dutch and international students doing a Bachelor’s programme at the UvA. Get to know the UvA, your fellow students and Amsterdam!
Get Ready
For all Bachelor’s students who feel like they can use an extra boost before the start of their studies. For instance, students who are the first in their families to go to university, students with a non-western migration background, neurodiverse students, or those who do not feel comfortable with large introduction events like Intreeweek.
Get Ready is a unique small-scale event, fully in Dutch, that offers a selection of practical workshops and fun activities to get to know other students while learning more about what studying at the university is like.
For Master's and exchange students:
Summer Introduction
- For Dutch and International (pre-)Master's students who have not studied at the UvA before
- For exchange students at the UvA (not open to students of the ABS Executive Programme, AUC and Oncampus)
The UvA and Erasmus Student Network Amsterdam (ESN) are joining forces for this two-day introduction event. With a diverse mix of activities - from sports and culture to language and music - you’ll get to know your fellow students, the university, and the city in the best possible way. Spread across some of Amsterdam's most hip and historical locations, you’ll get the chance to meet like-minded people, settle in together and recharge before your new adventure begins!
How do I apply?
Once you have been admitted to the UvA, you'll be invited to register for one of the introduction programmes. The invitations will be sent in July.
Do you want to coach new students?
Are you already studying at the UvA? This is your chance to relive the introduction programme as a mentor! All of our introduction programmes rely on students as mentors or crew. So please sign up for:
Will I also get an introduction to my study or faculty?
Apart from these introduction programmes for all UvA students, your Faculty will organise a mandatory introduction day or days. It will be focused on practical study information, and is a great opportunity to meet your fellow students, and the staff and teachers of the Faculty.
You will receive an invitation for this particular Faculty introduction from your own study programme. In case you have questions about this Faculty introduction, please contact the education desk of your programme directly. To do so, visit the main page of your study programme by selecting from either this Bachelor's overview or Master's overview. Subsequently, choose your area of interest, then your study programme, and go to the Contact tab there.
