Nabila Ernada is a PhD candidate in the Amsterdam School of Historical Studies (ASH) at the University of Amsterdam, where she is part of the NWO-funded Distant Voices project supervised by Dr Vincent Kuitenbrouwer. Her research examines Indonesian broadcasters at Radio Netherlands Wereldomroep during the decolonisation period (1945–1965), with a focus on Indonesian agency in transnational broadcasting.
Alongside her academic work, she is a media artist and design researcher, working across installation, film, sound, and text. Her practice centres on surveillance, resistance, and colonial histories, approached through a feminist lens. She holds an MA in Social Design from Design Academy Eindhoven (Best Thesis Award, 2025) and a BA in Media Studies from Universitas Indonesia and Deakin University.
