Military, Violence, Security issues, Peace and Conflict, Israel/Palestine
I'm an anthropologist working on issues of militarization and security in Israel/Palestine. In the last decades I have done extensive research on Israeli soldiers and on the global Israeli security industry. I'm furthermore interested in security activities by civilian organizations.
I'm co-director of the Programme Group Moving Matters: People, Goods, Power and Ideas in the departement of Anthropology.
I also teach courses on academic writing and the anthropology of violence. Furthermore I supervise MA students on a variety of subjects.
Councilwork: Since 2016 I'm part of the Works council of the FMG and since September 2019 i'm also part of the COR (Central Works' Council) where I'm serving as vice-chair.
Editorial work: I'm the Editor-in-Chief of Conflict and Society, published by Berghahn and I'm member of the editorial team of Etnofoor.
