    Thijs Janssen MA is specialized in the conservation of wood, plastics and organic materials. As a conservator he has worked for art, design, world culture, military and natural history collections. He has published several articles on the conservation of plastics and mount making for preventive conservation. He also works as a furniture maker.

    Thijs Janssen joined the UvA CnR department in 2023 as a Wood and Furniture lecturer, where he specializes in tools & techniques, construction and material properties of wood and other organic materials.
