Aart Jonkers (1987) is an assistent professor at the Amsterdam Centre for Transformative private law. He joined the centre, then called the Centre for the Study of European Contract Law, in September 2013 as a PhD candidate. He obtained his master’s degree in European Private Law (cum laude) at the University of Amsterdam and obtained his PhD (cum laude) for his manuscript titled: "Insider guarantees in corporate finance, an economic analyses of Dutch, US and German law". This research combines an economic and a comparative law approach and offers a critical perspective on the current regulation of externalities in corporate finance.
Aart focuses on the regulation of the economic dynamics involved in corporate finance and insolvency, more specifically on security rights and limited liability.
