About
I am a researcher and senior lecturer in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. My research expertise lies in inequalities in political participation and representation. More broadly, my work examines questions of democratic inclusion, political equality, and the conditions under which social groups can participate meaningfully in political decision-making.
In my PhD research in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam (2019–2025), I explored how citizens with minoritized migration backgrounds experience and evaluate their representation in politics through comparative focus group research in France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
I am currently involved in collaborative projects on political representation, as well as on local democracy initiatives in which residents and policymakers collaborate on urban challenges. These projects examine the extent to which such collaborations contribute to residents’ voice and influence in decision-making processes. In my work, I aim to connect scholarly findings with insights from non-academic audiences.
As a senior lecturer, I coordinate courses in the Bachelor’s programme in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. I primarily teach research methods courses, including Qualitative Research Methods and Systematic Literature Review, and I supervise theses.
