After finishing my PhD at the Université de Montréal in 2023, I became a postdoctoral researcher at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, affiliated with the Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis, starting in 2024.
During this stay, I've given seminars on comics history, especially on chalk talking, a largely forgotten form of public drawing practiced regularly in 19th-century America, and on how it played a role in the emergence of what would become comics. In parallel, I am working on a monograph on chalk talking practices and the serial strategies of Sydney Smith (Old Doc Yak, The Gumps). My research work has appeared in the International Journal of Comic Arts, Captures and Pop-en-stock. I was awarded the John A. Lent. Scholarship in Comics Studies in 2025.
In March 2026, I co-organized, with Dr. Toni Pape, Dr. Erin La Cour, and Dr. Rik Spanjers, the Ludification of Vision international conference in comics & visual studies.
I am also editor-in-chief of Panorama-cinéma (Montréal) and co-founder of the Montréal Critics' Week.
