Maria is a Lecturer in International Criminal Law in the Criminal Law section of the University of Amsterdam and a member of the Amsterdam Center for Criminal Justice. As part of the teaching team of the International and Criminal Law LL.M. programme, she has lectured on a range of topics, including substantive international criminal law and European criminal law. 

Maria currently serves as the programme coordinator, co-coach of UvA’s ICC-IBA Moot Court Competition team, and an LL.M. thesis supervisor. She is also part of the teaching team of a criminal law course at Amsterdam University College and the Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics programme.

Prior to joining the University of Amsterdam, Maria interned with the defence team of Mr. Hashim Thaçi at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers. She holds an LL.M. in International and Transnational Criminal Law from the University of Amsterdam and a BA with a specialization in Law from Amsterdam University College.
