Prof. A.M. (Sander) Onderstal

My research interests include auctions, cartels, and behavioral economics. Once in a while, I advise ministries, public organizations, and private parties on auctions for real estate, gasoline stations, radio frequencies for mobile telecommunications, etc. I live together with my girlfriend in Haarlem, where we raise our three children (2010, 2012, 2012). In my down time I love watching movies looking for scenes that highlight fundamental economic concepts and principles. My favorite examples are from Dr. Strangelove, The Informant! and A Beautiful Mind. Although Hollywood sometimes seems to miss the point, I love to show scenes from such movies in my lectures.
