Peter Starreveld studied psychology at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. He then got his PhD at Leiden University . Next he worked as an assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and he was senior lecturer at the applied psychology unit of NTI. Peter is now associate professor and manager of the content of the general part of the Bachelor study. He teaches the Introduction to psychology course.
His research interests are the representation of knowledge in semantic memory and the lexicon, and the interaction of these two kinds of knowledge. The main research tools used are conflict tasks (Stroop-like tasks and flanker tasks) and computational modelling.
