Laura Burens, student International Criminal Law

‘What I really liked about this LLM Programme is that it offers you the unique chance to study the subject of International Criminal Law in two cities. These cities are directly related to the field: New York and Amsterdam. This advantage influences the whole spirit of the programme by means of the academics and practitioners that are involved in teaching, the internship opportunities and study visits and finally, hopefully, also the future career prospects.

The atmosphere is supported by the very small and diverse group of students and professors. This programme is ideal for students who know that they want to be engaged in the field of International Criminal Law and have a general background in this area.

Although the schedule during the two semesters mainly focuses on specific aspects of this field of law, for me it also offered the possibility to understand the broader context in which International Criminal Law is placed and helped me to identify obstacles and challenges for the future.’
