The Open Science Coordinator is the leading advocate for Open Science within the UvA and helps increase awareness and knowledge of Open Science, thereby contributing to the transition to Open Science. The coordinator supports the cultural shift by connecting policy and practice and chairs the steering committee of the Open Science programme.
The Open Science policy advisors from Academic Affairs and the Library also serve as programme managers for the Open Science programme. They work closely with and support the Coordinator in translating (inter)national and UvA-wide Open Science objectives into clear policy and, together with the action line coordinators, ensure the implementation of the programme.
The action line coordinators monitor progress on the actions included in the programme.
The communications advisor develops and oversees the communication strategy for the Open Science programme, ensures consistent and audience-focused use of channels and formats, and supports the programme managers and action line coordinators in increasing the visibility of their activities.
The Open Science Community Manager facilitates exchange around open research practices and helps increase the visibility of best practices and knowledge of Open Science. The Open Science Community Manager is the University of Amsterdam’s main contact for the Open Science Community Amsterdam (OSCA), a collaboration between the University of Amsterdam (UvA), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA), Amsterdam UMC and the student initiative for Open Science (SIOS).
The Open Science ambassadors are researchers who, at the local and faculty level, help increase knowledge and awareness of Open Science and promote a cultural shift towards Open Science. They act as advocates for Open Science towards their colleagues and the leadership of their own faculty. Together, the ambassadors form the Open Science sounding board and provide both solicited and unsolicited advice to the programme team and the Open Science coordinator.
One Open Science ambassador will be appointed for each faculty. These will be announced here shortly.
