Launch of SSH Concept and SSH Impact Fund

Research in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) requires its own approach and facilities to increase the impact of research results. To support this, two funds have been set up: the SSH Impact Fund and the SSH Concept Fund. The funds, aimed at all researchers in the alpha and gamma disciplines, will be festively launched for Faculty of Humanities academics at Humanities Labs.

The IXA-UvA SSH Concept Fund and the SSH Impact Fund of UvA Ventures Holding provide financial support to researchers for the valorisation of research results, thereby increasing the application of SSH research results in society. This could include the development of a service or product in the form of a social enterprise or spin-off. The funds are a valuable addition to the valorisation facilities within the UvA. In addition, a new Impact Developer for the Humanities has been appointed to help increase the impact of specific projects outside the walls of the UvA from February 2024.

During this launch event for researchers in the Faculty of Humanities, we will spend about an hour explaining the who, what and how of the new funds, and you will be introduced to the new impact developer, Boudewijn Koopmans. In addition, colleagues who have come before you will present their impact initiatives. The drinks from 17:00 will be the time to meet colleagues and make new connections.
