New Massive Open Online Course module (MOOC) captures the procedures and practices that aim to ensure the exit of non-EU nationals from EU member-states by the time their visa or permit end and questions the effectivity of the approach. The MOOC is presented by the H2020 project team Advancing Alternative Migration Governance.

The H2020 project team Advancing Alternative Migration Governance is presenting a new Massive Open Online Course module (MOOC). The subject of the new MOOC of 36 minutes is the Governance of 'Exit'.  It captures the procedures and practices that aim to ensure the exit of non-EU nationals from EU member-states by the time their visa or permit end and questions the effectivity of the approach. It goes on to show how returnees in Senegal, Iraq and Albania try to find a way to reintegrate in their country of origin and what problems they encounter. In the last part of the video viewers find suggestions for alternative to pre-removal detention policies and for legal pathways to regularization - in line with the Global Compact on Migration.

Presenters are: Barak Kalir (University of Amsterdam), together with researchers Arja Oomkens (University of Amsterdam), Talitha Dubow (University of Maastricht) and Markus Gonzales Beilfuss (University of Barcelona). The MOOC series include key discussions, concepts and empirical findings, made suitable for BA students and all who want to learn about the topic.
