This series introduces us to a different employee every week. Find out what they most enjoy about their job and learn things you might not know about them yet. This week: Selda Dankerlui, an employee working at the EB Executive Secretariat.

What do you like most about your job?

What I enjoy most about my work is planning and organising activities. This is a common thread in all my work activities. I like seeing things run smoothly and successfully completing what we set out to do. This also gives me the chance to meet many colleagues in person and keeps the lines short.

Is there a project from this past year you are particularly proud of?

I’m particularly proud of the Faculty Office Sitness lunch workshop I helped organise. I think it’s fantastic when employers encourage their employees to be more active when they’re at work. For people who regularly sit in front of a computer screen, it’s important that they frequently move and stretch their shoulders, back, arms and neck. Exercise makes you both mentally and physically stronger! The workshop was a success and of course that’s something I’m very proud of.

What don’t most colleagues know about you?

My colleagues don’t know that I enjoy preparing international dishes at home. And that I really like to share a festive meal together with friends and family.
