The Herman Wold medal is a biannual prestigious award. Since 1995 it has been awarded to individuals who have contributed significantly to the development and proliferation of Chemometrics and its expanded synonyms in machine learning and multivariate statistics within data driven life sciences. The prize ceremony was held on 7 September 2021 at the SSC17 conference in Aalborg, Denmark.
The prize is named after Herman Wold (1908-1992), a statistician and econometrician at the University of Uppsala and member of the Swedish Royal Academy. He was known for important contributions to the fields of mathematical economics, time series analysis, and econometric statistics.
