The programme prepares you for diverse professional and academic trajectories across theatre, performance and the wider cultural field. International Dramaturgy develops competencies for dramaturgical work and intercultural collaboration, while Theatre and Performance Studies provides a critical and reflective foundation for roles across cultural practice, research and knowledge production.

International Dramaturgy focuses on dramaturgical practice, cultural translation and cross-cultural mediation, while also developing the research skills needed to understand how the dramaturge’s role changes within transnational collaborations. Theatre and Performance Studies strengthens your ability to analyse, contextualise and contribute to practices such as criticism, curatorship, education, cultural policy, community-based practice, documentation and archiving.

Graduates can work in theatre and performance companies and organisations, cultural institutions, festivals, programming and coordination, criticism and cultural commentary, education and community-based projects, archives and museums, cultural policy, or academic and research environments. The programme’s combination of critical research and field experience supports different professional trajectories rather than a single defined job profile.

The programme is grounded in theatre and performance while developing transferable skills in research, collaboration, communication, mediation and cultural analysis. These competencies are relevant to an international and multilingual cultural sector and to wider domains across the arts and humanities.
