In addition to the core course (12EC), you further develop your profile as an Urban Geographer through one of the electives and your thesis.

Part of the curriculum is shared with other specialisations in Geography,  including methods trainings and a fieldwork excursion abroad.

  • Thesis

Look forward to showcasing your understanding of contemporary urban challenges by combining your newly developed theoretical expertise and research skills. You can work on a topic of your own choice, with the additional option of doing fieldwork abroad.

  • Fieldwork

In January, you have the option to explore a specific case study in-depth by studying literature and  build up fieldwork experience. This includes conducting research in Barcelona and sharing your main discoveries through an essay and presentation back in Amsterdam.
