The UvA Thesis Prize is an additional distinction on top of the university degree. Master’s students who have received a grade of 9 or higher for their thesis may participate.
Participants must have graduated between 1 April 2025 and 1 April 2026 and must have received a 9 or higher for their master’s thesis. The overall prize winner of the UvA Thesis Prize 2026 receives 3,000 euros and the other (faculty) winners each receive 1,000 euros.
The jury selects one winner per faculty, from which the best thesis of 2026 is ultimately chosen. The overall prize of the UvA Thesis Prize is awarded during the Education Day, on Thursday 29 October 2026.
