Amsterdam aims to become one of the world’s leading locations for research and development in AI. Under the motto ‘AI Technology for People’, knowledge institutions and the Municipality of Amsterdam work closely together to make optimal use of AI expertise. Within this network, the University of Amsterdam collaborates with: the Municipality of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Economic Board, VU Amsterdam, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), Amsterdam UMC, the Netherlands Cancer Institute, Sanquin, and the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica.
The taskforce advises the Executive Boards (CvB) of both institutions on the use of AI in education. It does so in accordance with the principles of the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity. The taskforce provides guidance on both the challenges and the new opportunities that artificial intelligence offers to education.

The national Innovation Center for Artificial Intelligence (ICAI) aims to keep the Netherlands at the forefront of knowledge and talent development in AI. An ICAI lab is a research collaboration between industry, government or non-profit partners and a knowledge institution.
AISO is one of the fastest-growing student organisations in Amsterdam and welcomes any student who is curious about AI, regardless of level and/or field of study.
