Psychologist Thijs Launspach and neurobiologist Brankele Frank take you under the bonnet of your mental wellbeing. Don’t expect airy pep talks, but humour, scientifically grounded insights, and immediately applicable exercises. Where is the wear and tear? How do you keep your mental engine running smoothly – and avoid only working on yourself once the engine has already broken down?
Thijs Launspach is a psychologist, author and speaker. He has written bestsellers such as Fokking Druk, Je bent al Genoeg, and Werk kan ook uit. This year, his latest book Het is jullie zo gegund was published. He gives lectures and workshops on mental health, stress, and millennials in the workplace. Thijs is a lecturer at The School of Life, writes a column for AD, and is regularly seen and heard in the media. He also hosts a podcast on psychological topics.
Brankele Frank is a neurobiologist, author and speaker. She studied neurobiology, taught at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), and worked for organisations including McKinsey and ARTIS. She was also CFO of an international startup. After experiencing burnout, she delved into the topics of stress and recovery. Her bestseller Over de kop (2023) explains what happens in your brain during a burnout. As a science communicator, she bridges the gap between science and society and is a sought-after speaker. She co-hosts the podcast Let’s Go Mental with Malou Holshuijsen and writes a weekly column for Het Financieele Dagblad.
After completing her degree in European Studies at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), Lenneke Hoedemaker worked for several years as a policy officer in the European Parliament. She then served as communications manager at the WPF foundation (now Rutgers), where she organised the global campaign ‘Dance4Life’, among other projects. Since 2007, she has run her own business, offering her services as a facilitator, moderator, chair and discussion leader. In addition, she is active as an actor and singer in musical theatre productions.
