Open Campus Day: Mini Lecture Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology
Food and eating: anthropological perspectives
In this mini lecture you are introduced to the anthropological study of food. Thinking anthropologically about food and eating allows us to analyse everyday practices like shopping, cooking and eating as part of wider social and cultural worlds. How do people decide what to eat? How do these decisions shape their relations with others? How do questions of how and what we eat come to matter politically and on the level of our individual and collective identities?
