Five-day workshop 3–7 June 2013

Participants in this practical laboratory course will be taught the essential techniques required in the making of high quality replicas for exhibition, research, security, completion and conservation purposes.

Procedures and topics covered include moulding- and casting materials and their uses; mould-making principles; silicone rubber moulds; support casings; mixing, storing and using epoxy resin and other casting materials; applications of fillers and pigments; finishing and retouching. Case histories cover a wide range of different projects from micro-surfaces to large rock art replicas.
