The Summer Programmes Office (SPO), part of the Graduate School of Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam, is seeking the support of an Content Creation Intern from 18 May to 18 August 2026. Our office offers a variety of short-term programmes between the months of June and August for (mainly) international students.
This position is 32 hours per week for the full on-site internship period. From 15 June, working hours may occasionally include weekends, depending on the programme schedule and the needs of the Summer Programmes Office.
This is a unique opportunity to build real-world experience in content creation and social media within an international education setting. As part of the Summer Programmes Office, you will capture and share the energy of our summer programmes in real time across our social media channels for a global audience.
We expect to host 32 programmes with around 600 students this summer. Students come from across the world and will be studying various subjects within mainly the social and behavioural sciences.
Responsibilities include:
• Propose creative content topics and formats for UvA Summer School, owning concept development and refining ideas with the Marketing Coordinator’s guidance.
• Create and maintain a content calendar covering photo and video capture, video editing, and posting across TikTok, Instagram (Reels/posts/stories), and LinkedIn, aligned with key programme moments (arrivals, major excursions, farewell events, etc.), in coordination with and under the guidance of the Marketing Coordinator.
• Lead the launch and ongoing management of the UvA Summer School TikTok account, shaping the initial strategy, content plan, and publishing rhythm with guidance from the Marketing Coordinator.
• Coordinate closely with Academic Directors, Programme Coordinators and students to stay up to date on schedules and upcoming highlights (special events, guest speakers, excursions).
• Film and edit short-form social videos for both real-time posting and a structured content backlog, with the ability to appear on camera to conduct interviews and lead video storytelling.
• Collect, organise, and archive photo/video assets in a shared drive using clear folder structures.
Requirements:
Preferred (not mandatory)
• Interest in study abroad and innovative education.
• Current UvA student familiar with navigating the campus and key locations.
Skills and experience
•Strong visual eye and a feel for storytelling through photo and video.
• Comfortable with video editing.
• Confident creating content for TikTok and Instagram, with an understanding of what performs well (formats, trends, hooks, pacing, and captions).
• Excellent written communication skills in English, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging social media captions for a wide audience.
• Highly organized, able to plan ahead, manage schedules, and follow through consistently.
• Capable of working independently as well as a member of a team.
• Level-headed, positive, flexible, able to improvise.
• Based in Amsterdam or the surrounding area (easy to commute).
Benefits:
▪ A housing stipend (€350) and general stipend (€250) will be offered on a monthly basis (total: €600).
