Dr. Saeedeh Ahmadi is an Associate Professor of Strategy and Innovation at the University of Amsterdam Business School. She holds a PhD in Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research lies at the intersection of strategic management, innovation management, and psychology, focusing on managerial decision-making, organizational goals, technological change, and innovation under uncertainty. Her earlier work examines what drives managers to pursue riskier options, step outside their comfort zones, and initiate or delay action. She is also interested in goal setting and evaluating managerial interventions designed encourage innovation in organizations.
In her recent work, she investigates the organizational and technological gaps that emerge with the introduction of AI, particularly in the context of innovation and sustainability. In this line, she explores how new digital technological changes extend beyond technical questions to involve issues of meaning, interpretation, and framing, as different organizational actors interpret technologies, innovation opportunities, and sustainability objectives in different ways. Her work examines how these differing interpretations shape organizational responses and the pursuit of multiple objectives.
Dr. Ahmadi has presented her research at major international management conferences, including the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society, and published in journals, including Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, and Long Range Planning. She has served as an ad hoc reviewer for Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Psychological Reports, and Strategic Organization. Before entering academia, she worked for several years as a strategy and marketing analyst in the telecommunications industry.
