Our Bachelor’s programme Computational Social Science is positioned at the intersection of social sciences, humanities and computer sciences. It includes theory, research methodology and statistics as well as programming and change-making skills. You will become specialised in sustainable digital interventions for complex societal challenges (e.g. digital surveillance and health). You will do so through semester-long projects that combine and apply all the skills and knowledge of the programme, often tackling real problems in consultation with actual clients and societal stakeholders.
As a graduate of Computational Social Science, you will be prepared for enrolment in designated disciplinary or interdisciplinary Master’s programmes in social sciences, humanities and (data/computer) sciences. However, CSSci also offers you an excellent position in the labour market, whether you want to pursue a career in IT, advisory, policy or management. You will become a professional who combines technical with academic skills, such as problem solving, creativity, project management, programming and analytical thinking.
