Are you interested in how social enterprises create positive change while addressing real social needs? Do you want to learn the principles of social entrepreneurship and develop your own business plan that helps underprivileged communities? Are you looking to combine academic knowledge with practical engagement, working directly with non-profit organisations and local stakeholders?
In this course we examine social entrepreneurship from multiple perspectives: the concepts and theories that drive social enterprises, the barriers and opportunities they face, and how entrepreneurs identify and respond to social needs. We study local examples from the Dutch and Amsterdam context, exploring how social enterprises operate sustainably while creating social impact.
Through a combination of lectures by academics and experienced entrepreneurs, practical workshops, and community service placements, you will develop the skills to evaluate social entrepreneurship initiatives, write a basic business plan addressing social needs, and build your networking and presentation abilities.
