Education: PhD in Applied Cryptography and Hardware Security (Radboud University) . Position at UvA: Lecturer and educational program developer SNE.

'Arriving in the Netherlands in 2011, I have encountered an exciting field of work in Cybersecurity. A strong public education sector fosters open science, academic collaborations and innovative technological research. Coupled with an active industrial sector, this has made the country an important hub for cryptography, security and privacy technologies, while addressing our societal needs for fairness, cooperation, transparency and justice in the digital world. My education here led me to work deeper in the field of hardware security and secure semiconductors, making sure that the electronic devices we use daily to communicate guarantee our security, privacy and digital sovereignity.'

'In the master's programme Security and Network Engineering we are looking for highly motivated students that want to develop their knowledge in all domains of cybersecurity. This educational field is very diverse, calling for students that are well-versed in computer networks, students that can understand cryptography, students that can exploit software and hardware and, most importantly, students that can develop a hacking mindset. If you want to delve deeply into computer security, the SNE is the right place.'

'I wasn't really planning on going abroad for my Master's, but this programme fit my profile so well that I decided to come to Amsterdam. The practical character of this Master's programme really appealed to me. Most Master's in this field are quite theoretical, with lots of papers and not a lot of action.'
