The Czech Republic: a young EU member state in the heart of Europe with a rich and noisy history. With such writers and directors as Milan Kundera and Milos Forman, the Czech Republic also boasts a world-renowned literary and film tradition.
In the minor Czech, you familiarize yourself with its language. If desired, you can complement your linguistic knowledge with cultural-historical expertise, in electives like ‘Russian and East European Literatures’ or ‘Russian and East European Theater and Drama’ (see our study schedule for more information). In the modules Language Acquisition 1-4, you acquire basic auditory, writing, and reading skills, and you practise your conversation skills. Learn the language of this newborn EU state and you stand out on the job market. Students who already obtained some knowledge of the language can opt for an alternative realisation of the Language Acquisition modules. The complementary module of this minor can also be chosen independently as elective.
This minor is offered by the Faculty of Humanities. The faculty’s minors consist of 30 ECTS credits and earn you a second qualification that will be listed on the transcript accompanying your degree certificate.
