Strategic Information Management
In healthcare organizations, ICT is no longer solely a technical issue, but a strategic tool closely linked to the quality and design of core clinical processes. Healthcare professionals therefore play an increasingly important role in decision-making about information systems and are often part of an information management organization. This course focuses on the structure and functioning of this organization, with attention to strategy, prioritization, and sustainable information planning aligned with organizational objectives.

Healthcare professionals who want to deepen their knowledge of information management and digital technology and apply it in practice. No programming experience is required; enthusiasm for digital solutions in healthcare is sufficient.
Admission requirements
You can enroll with a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree (HBO or WO level) and at least two years of professional work experience in healthcare.

Program
In healthcare organizations, ICT is a strategic tool that is directly linked to the design and quality of core clinical processes. Healthcare professionals are therefore increasingly involved in decision-making about information systems and are part of information management structures.
In this course, you will learn the terminology, methods, and options that are important for IT decision-making (IT governance) and strategic information management. You will develop the knowledge and skills needed to take on an advisory and leading role in implementing strategic information management.

Course details
This course is offered entirely through e-learning, allowing you to set your own pace for studying the theory. In addition, you will work on assignments both individually and in groups with fixed deadlines.
Assessment consists of a written assignment and a subsequent oral defense. Course materials and assignments are available in both Dutch and English. Most of the literature is in English.

In the Netherlands, professionals who live and work in the country can apply for a loan for the program fee through the Lifelong Learning Credit (Levenlanglerenkrediet) at the Education Executive Agency (DUO).
