25 June 2024
At the grand closing event yesterday, the schools celebrated the search for their own talent with performances by many role models and the Award was presented. Winning this award is a special appreciation for our students supervising the activities and for the communications - outreach department.
Since 2014, the Faculty of Science communications department has contributed annually to Project Passport. Pupils from group 7/8 of 16 primary schools in Amsterdam Nieuw-West reflect on their talents and interests for a whole year. This is done through company visits. Students from the Faculty of Science also join them in class. In this way, students with an interest in science are given the opportunity to further explore their talents in the 'science club'. Students from different schools also visit our faculty for four half-days and do activities in the context of different STEM disciplines.
At a big closing event that took place on 24 June, the schools celebrated the search for their own talent. There were also performances by many role models who, with hard work, have shaped their talent into something they have become: actors, breakdancers, footballers. Performances by these role models alternated with performances by the pupils themselves. In addition, the annual Nouri Tweens Award was presented. Faculty of Science department of communication - outreach received the Award for 'supercompany' category. A special appreciation for our students who supervise the activities and for the communication - outreach department.
