Cybersecurity plays an ever-greater role in our rapidly digitalising society. Every incident increases the call for more measures, while management accountability continues to rise. Yet, security cannot be proven, and risk assessments are becoming increasingly uncertain.

Operational risks

The tendency to ‘err on the side of caution’ often results in layers of new security measures. This approach is unsustainable and may even introduce new operational risks. How can we prevent control frameworks from quickly ageing or deteriorating? How can we make better security decisions that take uncertainty into account—leading to sustainable and transparent control frameworks?

Prof. dr Martijn Dekker, Professor by Special Appointment of Business and Cybersecurity:Onzekerheid in veiligheid
