How to apply
-
1. Check the entry requirements
The Admissions Office will evaluate your eligibility on the basis of 3 criteria:
- Secondary school diploma
- English proficiency
- Mathematics proficiency
-
2. Register in Studielink
Studielink is the national online registration system for students who would like to pursue a degree programme at a Dutch university. All students who would like to apply to a programme at the UvA need to register in Studielink first.
Please note that after registration in Studielink we expect your completed application (SIS My Applications) within 14 days. Before enrolling in Studielink, make sure you collect all documents so that you can meet this deadline.
-
3. Check your personal enrolment checklist in SIS
After registering in Studielink, you will receive your UvAnetID. This will give you access to check the status of your personal enrolment Checklist. There you find the subsequent steps that you need to take in order to complete your enrolment.
-
4. Submit your online application in SIS 'My Applications'
In order to check if you are eligible for the programme you need to upload and submit your documents in ‘My applications’. Do not forget to keep an eye on the deadlines!
We expect your completed application within 14 days after registration in Studielink. If you have not submitted your application within these 14 days, you will receive a reminder to complete your application. If you also don't meet the second deadline, your application in SIS 'My Applications' and your enrolment in Studielink will be cancelled.
Students with an international secondary school diploma in combination with a HBO-P can skip this step.
-
5. Wait for the admission results
You will receive your (conditional) results within 4-6 weeks after you submitted a fully completed application form. The earlier you apply, the sooner you will know the outcome.
-
6. Confirm your participation
You can confirm your participation from the moment you have been conditionally accepted to the programme. You reserve your place in the programme, and let us know you would like to study with us. Confirm your participation in the programme as soon as possible, and before the deadline stated in your email.
How: Login to SIS, click on 'confirm' and choose one of the options.
If you have doubts, note that your confirmation is not binding. You can cancel your request for enrolment in Studielink at any time. However, a timely confirmation will allow us to continue all administrative procedures. -
7. Participate in UvA Matching
UvA Matching is an online introduction to the Bachelor’s programme. It is designed to assess whether the programme is a good fit for you.
-
8. Pay the tuition fee
Your tuition fee needs to be credited to the UvA’s bank account 1 day before your degree programme starts at the latest, so 31 August for a September start.
Practical matters after admission
If you have received the great news that you are (conditionally) admitted to the programme, it's time to focus on other essential matters like arranging a visa (if necessary), finding accommodation, and preparing for the start of your academic journey. We will inform you per email about these topics when (conditionally) admitted. Want to get an early idea of what you need to consider?
