The UvA logo as used since 2010. The logo has a fixed position on communications materials: in the top left-hand corner.
Under certain conditions, it is possible to add a single additional element to increase recognisability. We refer to this as the second layer. The master brand and the second layer reinforce each other. The names that can be used in the second layer were established in July 2019 and are available below under ‘Downloads’. Together, these logos form the University of Amsterdam’s brand architecture.
The compact logo may be used when the UvA primary logo does not fit or would become illegible in the communication material. The compact logo does not allow for the addition of the name of an individual organisational unit.
Sometimes a communication material is designed with only limited space for a small UvA identifier. The logo tag has been developed for this purpose. It should only be used where the primary logo or compact logo does not fit or would become illegible. The logo tag is not intended for printed materials such as flyers, posters and brochures.
When collaborating with multiple parties (more than three), the logo tag may also be used to improve legibility. The logo tag does not allow for the addition of the name of an individual organisational unit
Sometimes the UvA logo needs to be placed on a poster or brochure for a project in which the UvA is involved solely as a sponsor or partner. The compact UvA logo is generally used for this purpose. In some cases, the logo cannot be placed in accordance with the current corporate identity guidelines. A special ‘sponsor logo’ variant can be created for such situations.
For more information about using the sponsor logo, see the Rights page. Would you like to have a special sponsor logo created? Please contact huisstijl@uva.nl.
