Who was/is your Role Model and why?

My role model is Prof. Rosa Matzkin, the Charles E. Davidson Distinguished Professor of Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles, and currently First Vice-President of the Econometric Society. I was a student in Rosa’s course during my exchange program in 2018. What impressed me about Rosa was when, during our last session, she brought us sweets as a small farewell. Apart from her incredible achievements in academics, she is very kind, humble, and passionate about her work. Rosa has inspired me a lot to become a woman working in the field of research.

What advice would you give your 17-year-old self, reflecting on your personal or professional  challenges, experiences or successes?

Don’t hesitate to be curious about the world Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone Take any “positive-NPV” opportunity seriously. At the age of seventeen, I never expected that I would be making my way in academia like I am now.
