Research Highlights and Impact

About Resilient Society & Financial Stability

We are facing multiple global crises - from financial-economic and environmental to technological and epidemiological. This calls for a deep and integrated understanding of the modern risks to society. Our researchers work on developing responses that enhance resilience, financial-economic stability and social-economic equality.

Impact Centres

To genuinely create impact, our researchers collaborate on this theme in several transdisciplinary Impact Centres.

  • Research Centre for Longevity Risk
The Research Centre for Longevity Risk (RCLR) conducts research on the financial and social implications of longer life spans. Greater awareness of this issue will contribute to the public debate. The Centre is a collaboration between the Amsterdam School of Economics and the financial services provider Nationale Nederlanden. For more information, please contact Torsten Kleinow.
  • Center for Nonlinear Dynamics in Economics and Finance
Non-linear complex systems in economics and finance constitute the main research area of the Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics in Economics and Finance (CeNDEF). The focus is on models from behavioural finance and behavioural macroeconomics. For more information, please contact Cars Hommes.
  • Amsterdam Centre for Corporate Finance
The Amsterdam Centre for Corporate Finance (ACCF) is a think tank specialising in corporate finance and the functioning of the financial sector. The ACCF promotes high-quality research at the intersection of financial theory and corporate policy. For more information, please contact Jeroen Ligterink.
