Earlier in June, the UvA also rose in the THE World Reputation Rankings. The reputation index measures 100 universities with the best reputations and is part of the newly released overall rankings list.
To compile its rankings, Times Higher Education uses a methodology with in total 13 performance indicators distributed over five broad categories: teaching (30%), research (30%), citations (30%), international outlook (7.5%) and industry income (2.5%). The UvA has scored highest in the area of research.
The highest ranked university is the University of Oxford, followed by the University of Cambridge and the California Institute of Technology in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Just like last year, all 13 Dutch universities are ranked in the top 200. Of these universities, 7 are in the top 100.
