Partners

in education in conservation

Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg (SRAL) in Maastricht, the Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam (RMA) are key partners in the UvA training programme Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage.

Many conservation specialists within the tripartite partnership of UvA, RCE and RMA participate in the curriculum of the UvA Conservation Department in the Ateliergebouw on the Museumplein. This way the students take part in national and international research and conservation projects. The SRAL also participates actively in the UvA Master’s programme, lecturing the Master students and supervising the Post-Master students in the specialisation of paintings conservation.

In addition, a number of mainly national museums and cultural heritage institutions constitute important partners concerning the training of future conservators, supplying objects and research projects for students and trainees to work on or participate in. Moreover, the UvA Conservation Department has established partnerships and collaborations with national and international associations, universities and colleges. These alliances stimulate valuable contributions to the training programme and provide a broad supportive network concerning developments in education, research and promotion of the conservation discipline.
