Many information systems are used within healthcare. What does the healthcare information landscape look like, and how can you ensure that data is recorded only once and can be reused for research, quality measurements, and data-driven healthcare? In this course, you will learn to speak the language of ICT professionals, understand the interconnection between healthcare processes and information systems, and gain insight into data standardization to facilitate data reuse within the framework of European legislation.

Every healthcare professional works with one or more healthcare information systems. Those who speak the language of ICT professionals and data scientists can use these systems and the healthcare data stored within them in a strategic way. This course outlines the landscape of different healthcare information systems and their interconnections, and introduces the basics of informatics and data standardization and exchange.
With the knowledge and skills gained in this course, you will be a strong discussion partner for information analysts, EHR developers, and system administrators. Together, you will be able to design information systems in a way that optimizes data registration and maximizes the (re)usability of the recorded data.
This course is offered entirely through e-learning.
