In her project DIAL, Sanneke Stigter developed a digital tool that analyses how museum professionals handle works of art and what effect this has on the works when they are exhibited to the public. 'When a work of art is not installed properly, it is possible that the essence of the work is not conveyed to the public,' she explains. 'It may even be the case that the professional handling the object does not realise this. This tool was made to sharpen that awareness.'
The nominees for the award are divided into three categories: Society, Health, and Environment and Climate. Via an online vote, the public will decide which of the nominees will be invited to pitch their project during the award ceremony, which will take place in NEMO on 9 November.
