In a world where technology shapes every facet of our lives, the demand for skilled professionals in technology governance is higher than ever. Therefore, the Amsterdam Law School of the University of Amsterdam starts in September 2024 with the new multidisciplinary Advanced LLM in Technology Governance.

The core of the programme is the emerging European technology regulation framework from the AI act to the Digital Services Act. But we also know that law may not be the easiest, most powerful, or even the most effective instrument to regulate how platforms, AI or social media impact our lives and societies. Therefore the programme goes beyond the law and teaches students how the legal instruments work together with non-legal forces that govern technology: markets, technology design, institutions, politics. So students can make an impact on society, economy and culture.
