Do you not hold a university-level Bachelor’s degree in Law? Do not worry. There are bridging programmes (Pre-Master's) available for students from both research universities and universities of applied sciences. This will still enable you to pursue a Master’s degree in Law at the University of Amsterdam.

What is a Pre-Master’s programme?

A Pre-Master’s programme is intended for students who wish to pursue a Master’s degree that does not directly align with their Bachelor’s degree. This may be because you want to progress to a Master’s programme in a different field, or because you wish to move from a university of applied sciences (hbo) Bachelor’s degree to a research university (wo) Master’s degree. During a Pre-Master’s programme, you develop the key skills required before you can begin the legal Master’s programme of your choice.

There is a wide range of Law Pre-Master’s programmes available at the University of Amsterdam. Below, you will find the Pre-Master’s programmes for graduates with a non-law research-university Bachelor’s degree, as well as the programmes designed for graduates from universities of applied sciences.
