  • Profile

Since August 2023, I am part of the Academic Skills and Student-Centered Education (AV-SO) expertise team. Within the team I work as an Academic Skills teacher and I supervise first-year students as a mentor. During my studies in Biomedical Sciences at the UvA, I became interested in the immune system. Therefore, I chose the Infection & Immunity track for my Master's in Biomedical Sciences.

    During my master I investigated:

    1) The influence of sex steroid hormones on the growth and virulence of Candida Albicans in vitro.

    2) The role and localisation of Innate Lymphoid Cells (ILC) and Tissue Resident Memory T-cells (TRM) in Graft vs Host Disease (GvHD) affected colon and skin tissue.

Subsequently, I gained 8 months of experience as a PhD student at Sanquin, where I started to develop an antibody based therapy for leukemia patients.
