Exchange

Every semester, the Faculty of Science welcomes exchange students from various partner universities. Although most of the Bachelor's (undergraduate) courses at the Faculty of Science are given in Dutch, a number of courses is also taught in English.

The Faculty of Science participates in several exchange programmes:

  • Erasmus programme
  • Global Exchange Programme (for students from outside the EU/EEA)
  • Science Without Borders (exchange programme for Brazilian undergraduate students)
  • Student exchange programme with the International Training Institute for Material Science, Hanoi University of Technology (Hanoi, Vietnam)

For more information about the courses which are offered to exchange students, see the section ‘Courses’.

Research

Exchange students who wish to take part in a research project at the Faculty of Science are welcome to apply. If a student is interested in a research project on master level, the director of the master programme will first evaluate if the student meets the required level. This will be done after the exchange programme application deadline. If  approved for master level research, students are responsible for finding and arranging a research project themselves. The best way to do so is by perusing the websites of Faculty of Science’s research institutes. Once an interesting research group or subject has been found, interested students should contact the relevant affiliated researcher or the head of the research group to inform about a possible placement.
