To be admitted to the Executive Master’s in Health Informatics, we ask you to submit a portfolio. This portfolio provides insight into your background, motivation, and experience. The Admissions Committee will review it to determine your eligibility for the program.

2. Gather Documents
Your portfolio should include the following documents:
- Certified copy of your bachelor’s and/or master’s diploma
- Certified transcript, including a description of completed courses
- Curriculum vitae highlighting relevant work experience
- Copy of the photo page of your passport (front and back)
- Billing information: name or institution, department, attention to, address, postal code, city, country, cost center, or other administrative details
- Signed intake form

3. Securely Submit Your Digital Portfolio
Your portfolio contains personal information and must be submitted securely. Send an email to healthinformatics@amsterdamumc.nl. You will then receive a secure upload link from the program coordinator, allowing you to submit all documents securely.

4. Admission Decision
After reviewing your portfolio, the Admissions Committee will decide whether you are admitted to the program.
If admitted, you will receive an official admission letter with further information on enrollment and the start of the program.

Admission Requirements
You are eligible for the master’s program if you have:
- A university bachelor’s or master’s degree, or
- A professional bachelor’s (HBO) degree with completion of at least one course from the Health Informatics program
- At least two years of relevant work experience in a healthcare organisation
- A prior education with a clear medical or biological component
Required Medical Knowledge
All candidates must demonstrate medical knowledge at least at the level of a professional bachelor’s degree. This means you:
- Understand and can use medical terminology (such as patient records, organ systems, and disease processes)
- Understand the clinical reasoning process used by physicians
- Have insight into key organizations and roles within healthcare, including relevant laws and regulations
- Have knowledge of financial flows in healthcare
- Understand how the procurement process works in healthcare and are aware of recent transitions in the healthcare system
- Have insight into strategies for influencing public health

Program fees and financing
What's included?
The program fee includes the examination fee and access to online study materials.
Payments
Each course will be charged by invoice after the start of the course.
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your registration free of charge until the start of the course. After the start of the course, refunds are no longer possible.
Financing
In the Netherlands, professionals who live and work in the country can apply for a loan for the program fee through the Lifelong Learning Credit (Levenlanglerenkrediet) at the Education Executive Agency (DUO).
