1. Find the course in the Course Catalogue
Find the course you would like to take in the online Course Catalogue. You will find the course schedules on rooster.uva.nl.

2. Check the deadlines
For academic year 2020-2021, the faculty must have received your application for the Open UvA Colleges before the deadlines below. After the deadline the course registration starts. If you did not apply by then, the course might be full. In most cases you can apply for extensive education* or be put on the waiting list.

*For most of our courses you can choose between intensive education (including tutorial workgroup, lectures and exams) or extensive education (only lectures and exams). In both cases you have access to our online learning space Canvas.

3. Check the entry requirements
Bachelor course
Our Bachelor’s Law programme is fully taught in Dutch.
Please contact the Admissions Office if you have any questions.
Master course
Make sure you meet the entry requirements for the master’s programme, also if you only wish to follow one course. Select the master’s programme of your choice to see if you are admissible.

4. Fill in the online application form
Fill in the online application form for 2020-2021.

In this form you need to upload a copy of your passport, diploma and transcript. After applying, you will receive a proof of receipt. If we need more information, we will let you know.

5. Activate your UvAnetID
After applying, you will receive an email with your UvAnetID. Follow the instructions in this email to activate your ID; you will need it to complete your UvA application.

6. Request student ID card
A student ID card is a personal document which serves as proof of identity for examinations and library privileges. You will receive instructions explaining how to request your student ID card.

7. Pay the course fee
You will need to pay the course fee in order to complete your registration to the course. The invoice will be sent to the email address you provide in the online registration form.

8. Wait for the proof of enrollment and for the proof of the course registration.
When your application is approved and you have been definitively registered for the course(s), you will receive an email with a confirmation of the enrolment and course registration.

9. Re-register for courses
If you wish to apply for another course, please fill in the form Course registration Open UvA Colleges.

10. Resit
If you don’t pass an exam, you can do a resit. Please request for this resit, since you are not automatically registered for a resit.
