With more than 7,000 students, 500 staff and 60 PhD students, UvA Economics and Business (EB) is one of the Netherlands’ largest faculties in this field at the Netherlands’ largest university. Our education and research are organised across two schools: the Amsterdam Business School (ABS) and the Amsterdam School of Economics (ASE).

Top research in our subject areas

Each year we publish 245 top-class academic publications in a variety of subject areas such as economics, micro and behavioural economics, business analytics, accountancy, econometrics, finance, entrepreneurship, leadership, strategy and marketing.

We safeguard the social relevance of our research work through our close ties with social organisations and the business community, at both national and international level.  This means that our education is directly linked with both our research and with practice.

Internationally oriented

Students and staff are stimulated to operate with a global mindset throughout different countries and cultural settings. This is reflected in all our study programmes and throughout our organisation, at all levels.
